Earthly Gripe of the Day

I just read several profiles in succession where the person described himself in the first line as “down to Earth”.  Do they need to say they are in their profiles?  How substantive of a comment can it be?  It seems to me that this would be something only another person could say about someone, who isn’t that person’s mother, the way people sometimes say “told I’m good looking.”  Not sure what down to Earth means, anyway.  Good center of gravity?  Sober?  Not a dreamer?  Easy going?  Un-heavenly?  Jaded?  Bitter?

Progress Photos

Neighbors were giving away a new mirror and I made another run to the thrift store to get clothes that wouldn’t be so baggy on me. I have other clothes to “model” but here are some shots that I think exemplify the progress that I’ve made with the weight loss, new food intake, etc. What was that song that Ricky Martin sang on Glee? 🙂

Also included is a cute picture of my Yorkies sleeping on the edge of the couch, like they love to do.

History Repeating

I may have had too much coffee this morning. I just rearranged all the art in my house, and moved a lot of the stuff I had leaning against the walls in the garage into the house or backyard perhaps to cheer myself up or just change the scenery around here a bit. I have always thought that a house feels more like a home with blank spots covered with something interesting and hopefully thought-provoking, and something that has sentimental value or nostalgia (like NYC pictures after lamenting about the 9/11 days that I lived through with particular thought to the new footage and documentaries I just watched). I think I have one of those conditions that makes people rearrange furniture now and then, but I don’t think it’s something I need a twelve step program for. 🙂
