Escaping the heat, everyone stayed outside and to make more room for all of the food, we converted the hot tub cover (fortunately now under a tarp) into a makeshift table. Glenn made a wonderful cake which includes TWO POUNDS of chocolate.
Fortunately — or rather, unfortunately, because they think I’m hetero — people still think I’m her boyfriend at times!
We had dinner at Fisherman’s wharf and then had a BBQ two days later with carne asada that Bobby marinated. There’s a shot of the video games that ensued on the PS3.
On Barbra’s birthday (four days later) we had brunch at Doug’s Restaurant in Castro Valley.
My sister made a lovely cake. Her and her husband and now shown in the picture, but these are the best ones that we took on a Friday before a holiday weekend when we had a BBQ.
Kick off the start to the holiday weekend with my friends, family and yours truly, especially if you haven’t seen my new place in Cherryland. We will BBQ, the hot tub will be available and those who are coming from far away (good excuse for those who might want to come to the Bay area from regional areas) are welcome to crash, as we have plenty of extra sleeping accommodations between our guest bedroom and three couches, including a fold-out.
WHERE: 914 Blossom Way in Cherryland (Hayward), CA 94541; we are one mile from the Hayward BART station, which is a lovely walk, but there are cabs and buses. Ask me if you want to car pool with someone from your area and I will see what I can do.
WHEN: My actual birthday, Friday, July 2 @ 7:30pm
RSVP: Via email or mobile/text 917-330-6105
BRING: Something to share gastronomically or to drink, your bathing suit, and a towel, if you want to take a dip in the hot tub.
Everything seems to happen at once. Alex turned 18, we moved into a new place, she takes a road trip to Los Angeles; she’s graduating high school and getting her driver’s license within two months, etc.
