Thanksgiving pies included key lime, sweet potato, and cherry apple. We joined Greg and Steve for dessert, together with Steve’s brother and girlfriend, Vince and Jillian, visiting from Vermont. We learned how to play an Uno-like game called Mexican Train.
Yes, we got up this morning for a Thanksgiving Day row, and it was a full boat! We went to the Crockett side of the Carquinez Strait beyond the bridge, so I got some perspectives with the camera I never had before. What a gorgeous morning in late November.
Halloween party where I went as a “Queen Fairy” (see tiara) and Shando went as a “Save Brittany” fan with the pet pig named Chicharrón. That’s some pig!
This was another great Halloween potluck with Vallejo Gay Network thanks to the Bregenzers.
Mark went as the corpse of Diane Feinstein. Too soon!
Tabled at the Madhatter Independence Day Festival in downtown Vallejo, which followed the Madhatter Parade. They also had a dog parade which began in front of the booth for HSNB.org. There were amazing kites and a reptile exhibit next to us.
As President of the Glen Cove Community Association, I was happy to participate in a gift to Bob and Linda Taylor for their extraordinary contribution to the joy of our area. This may be the last year that they do the spectacle, which can be seen as a beacon of light from the nearby freeway.
GCCA is happy to contribute toward what must be an astronomical electric bill. Many know the story that this display began as a tribute to Bob’s daughter, who died in a plane accident years ago. She was a big fan of the holiday and decorations.
This is GCCA with many board members and their partners presenting the check to the Taylors.
Here is some footage of Shando and the view from the corner and cub, which lets one see only a small fraction of the decorations. Visitors are welcome to walk all around the side and front yard.
