Our second time to the Big Island we stayed for New Years in a big mansion on Kona, although our designated area was just a part of it with the pool, we were given access to the rest of it, which turned out to be great for New Year’s Eve. The dry side of the island had some of our favorite beaches with turtles and amazing sunsets. We had fun enjoying that entire side of the island in a convertible.
Thanks to a Meetup.com group, we found a beautiful new bayside park near the San Leandro Marina (where my dad used to moor his boat) that I had previously not known about, with off-leash areas.
It was great to see my sister and her beautiful family, which had come in from Tennessee and Arizona. I finally got a chance to introduce them to Shando and see a new grand-niece who was just born a few months ago. Yes, they have a pet prairie dog. While talking about our family history there I got inspired to join Ancestry.com again. I encourage people to join. Hopefully they will reduce the price if more people join.
